 Esto es lo que debes saber sobre el NITE

Si no cuentas con una cédula de identidad costarricense, necesitarás solicitar un NITE (Número de Identificación Tributaria Especial) para registrarte ante el Ministerio de Hacienda.

Este número te permite identificarte ante la Dirección General de Tributación y realizar trámites esenciales como:

✅ Facturación electrónica

✅ Declaración de impuestos

✅ Registro de actividad económica

Ya seas inversionista, propietario de una empresa o estés comenzando un emprendimiento, contar con un NITE te permitirá operar con transparencia y lo más importante: inscribirte formalmente ante Hacienda.

Importante: Obtener un NITE no implica que debas pagar impuestos automáticamente.

Simplemente es una forma de estar correctamente registrado en el sistema tributario costarricense.

Además, si en el futuro deseas vender una propiedad o establecer un negocio, contar con este número puede ahorrarte tiempo y facilitar el proceso cuando llegue el momento.

If you do not have a Costa Rican ID, you’ll need to apply for a NITE (Special Tax Identification Number) to register with the Ministry of Finance (Hacienda).

This number allows you to be identified by the Tax Administration and carry out essential tasks such as:

✅ Business registration

Whether you're an investor, business owner, or starting a new venture, having a NITE enables you to operate transparently and, most importantly, be formally registered with the tax authorities.

Important: Obtaining a NITE does not mean you will automatically have to pay taxes.

It’s simply the correct way to be registered in the Costa Rican tax system.
